Lessons are charged by the month and are due before the first lesson of each month, on the agreement that you are scheduling a recurring weekly lesson and will be billed accordingly.
The number of lessons billed per month will depend on the number of days within the month, (e.g if your lesson is on Thursdays and there are 4 Thursdays in the month, you will be charged for 4 lessons, if there are 5 Thursdays you will be charged for 5, etc.)
I will notify you in advance of any scheduled time off, and will only bill for the amount of lessons you will have scheduled in that month (this is for ease of scheduling with events such as stage productions and continuing education conferences)
*There are no lessons on the weekend of Thanksgiving, nor the weeks of Christmas and Independence day and I will send out reminders in advance with exact dates for the year
Note: I do not follow the public or private school holiday calendar
We schedule recurring lessons to encourage consistency for developing mastery in your instrument, so I plan my time accordingly to be able to bring you quality education each week. Therefore, I require a minimum notice of 24 hours in advance if a lesson will be missed. If you cancel your lesson with at least 24 hours notice, your lesson will be made up at another time.
If I am given less than 24 hours notice, the lesson is forfeit and will not be eligible for a make-up; If a lesson is missed with NO notice, the lesson is forfeit and will not be eligible for a make-up.
If I have to cancel your lesson for whatever reason, you will be given a make-up lesson. I will be sure to give you a notice within the 24 hour minimum either via email or text.
In the case of an emergency (you or I are sick, car trouble, power outage, etc.) and 24 hours notice is not possible, you will be given a make-up lesson If I feel it is warranted.
If you are running late with no notice, I reserve the right to call your lesson forfeit after a minimum of 15 minutes.
Students can only accumulate 4 make-ups at once, after 4 any other missed lessons are forfeit.
I do not follow the public/private school weather closure protocol. I teach in my home studio, so I will leave the decision to travel to you. If you do not feel safe, I am happy to offer an online video lesson at your usual lesson time, and if this is not possible, your lesson will be made up at another time.
Summer lessons are a great way to continue your education and keep busy during the summer break, so I highly encourage continuing lessons during the school break. It is often found that students who take the 1-2 months of break off find themselves catching back up to where they were when they return in the fall.
If you are concerned about vacation plans or camp schedules, I am flexible to discuss your summer schedule to either schedule around the changes or possibly switch to a bi-weekly schedule.
Students who wish to discontinue lessons must notify me BEFORE the lessons are charged for the month.
